From white table linens establishments, to buy-it-from-the-pound and cook it yourself, to fish shacks where you crack them open and eat them with butter dripping down to your elbows, or in mouth watering lobster rolls, lobster is plentiful and easily found in the Hamptons this summer.

Here’s what I love and usually order at this drive-up casual lobster shack on the old Montauk Highway in Southampton: Lobster Bisque, Lobster Salad, Whole Lobster with Melted Butter, Lobster Fra Diavolo over Linguine, Lobster Rolls, and I love their Mexican Street Corn.

I stop here more times than I should admit for their amazing lobster bisque. It has chunks of lobster in it. My secret is that I often buy a larger container of it, take it home, and serve it as a sauce over pasta. It’s thick and creamy and so good!!!!!
The other way I use this market is to order ahead fresh not-cooked lobsters to take home to cook myself. They cook them for you, but I like mine a little less well done. They also make lobster rolls. Other reasons to stop by? The best best best cornbread I have ever had, and they make fresh tamales to die for every day.

Whether for romancing or dining with friends, Pierre’s is a wonderful choice for lobster. They usually have a lobster bisque, a lobster risotto, and a lovely lobster salad on the menu spiked with a bit of cognac. If they offer a stuffed lobster as a daily special, definitely go and splurge. They run large and are really good!

I am addicted to their Lobster BLT. Need I say more? On their breakfast and lunch menu, f you don’t see it on the menu for dinner, just ask and they will make it for you. It’s one of their iconic dishes and super delicious.

Made famous as the site of so many TV shows, this very casual lobster joint is on the way to Montauk and usually packed to the gills in the summer. You can get their classic lobster roll for $35, hot lobster roll with melted butter over the top, and their lobster salad over a green tossed salad bowl. They also have gluten free lobster rolls, just ask. It’s a scene.

Worth the drive for their now famous lobster cobb salad that costs the world but is so wonderfully delicious. Sit on the deck and also enjoy a 2 pound lobster dinner or a generously stuffed lobster roll.

Owned by Duryea’s in Montauk, this is another great place in Sag Harbor to source a good lobster when you are craving one. Their raw bar features a 1 pound lobster and a 3-person $215 lobster tower. They have a 3-person Duryea’s Lobster Cobb salad for $97, as well as a 1.5 pound grilled lobster. 25% off all bottles of wine on Wednesdays.

Tuesday is “lobster night” at Bobby Van’s in Bridgehampton. For $40.69 you get a 1 1/4 pound lobster served with corn on the cob and a baked potato. I have done this many times. At all other times they serve a chilled lobster cocktail (like a shrimp cocktail), a lobster roll with fries, twin lobster tails, surf & turf, and a lobster truffle mac n’ cheese.
